Sir, I am assisting my son David in researching the 6th KS Cav. It was first formed as Home Guards in 1861 and mustered out in 1862; there were 3 companies. When redone as the 6th in 1862 some men went to other regt., stayed in the new 6th, went to milita units or just stayed out of service. He has found the rosters for Co A & C but so far hasn't found Co B. On our list of men we do not have an Aaron Davis nor a William O. Lee; have a William G. who was from Appanoose Co., IA.
