Howard, I hope the papers I sent you were of a help in gaining a better understanding of Blunt's problems. Reading them it does appear that Blunt did have some mental issues such as delusions, paranoia whatever the cause was. Unfortunately, they didn't have the means to diagnose back then as what is available today such as blood work, x-ray, and a better understanding of mental conditions. He could have ended up with simple senile dementia,Alzeimer's or some other type of mental illness. The stress of the sunstroke could have precipitated the onset.
My connection with the Civil War is really in the line of assisting David in his research so if you feel there are any "wages" owed please pay them to David.
