Eric,
Have you tried the Indiana Dept of Archives or what ever they might call it in that state? You might find a lot of what you seek there or perhaps the Indiana National Guard might have a lot of info. I live in Illinois and I have been able to find much info in that manner using both the Guard site and through the Dept of Archives that is maintained by the Secretary of State here in Illinois.
