Thanks for your posting...!!!!!
The following research question was sent to me by my friend Carl Burkhead in Oregon Co. MO; this is regarding the actions of the 1st Indiana Cavalry and Colonel Conrad Baker in/near the area of Oregon County, Missouri:
"In August, 1862 the 1st Indiana Cavalry visited Thomasville , Mo. The only account I have seen is Col. Conrad Baker's report in the O.R.s. Have you ever run across any Indiana diaries or other journals with more information about what they did other than send a patrol 8 miles east to punish some of the local boys for killing federal soldiers?"
I have not yet searched the Indiana State Archives or Historical Society for any diaries/letters/etc., but would surely welcome any helpful pointers, etc.?
Any additional info, suggestions, contacts, ideas, etc. are VERY greatly appreciated...!!!!
thanks for your time and kind help!!!
