I live in Bedford Indiana. There is a Breckinridge Cemetery at the North end of "M" Street behind General Motors Central Foundry . In the middle of the cemetery there is a large monument that says:

"Camp Lawrence 1861 - 1865 was used as an union training camp and a confederate prisoner of war interment camp. The camp was located southeast of this cemetery near the railroad.

Buried on this site are the remains of 25 confederate prisoners of war and 7 union soldiers who died at Camp Lawrence during the Civil War whose names are known but to God."

Do you have any information on Camp Lawrence? I only live a few blocks from it and no one in Bedford has any information that I can find.
