Johnny Cook (Bat B 4th US)

I am a Civil War author (To Make Men Free; A Novel of the Battle of Antietam) and I have been asked to appear on a History Channel documentary. I am trying to do some additional research on the soldiers they are going to want me to talk about.
One of these "men" is Johnny Cook, the bugle boy for Battery B of the 4th US Artillery who (most of you probably know) was awarded the Medal of Honor for valor when he assisted General Gibbon manning a gun at the cornfield.
I know he was commended again at Gettysburg, but that's as far as I can go. Can any of you Black Hatters help me out here and fill me in on what happened to Johnny after Gettysburg? I would love to know.
