Thanks, that’s a possibility, but with about 30 William Robertson/Robinson possibilities listed on the Soldiers and Sailors System, I was hoping to identify the correct one before I ordered service records. The William M. Robertson I am looking for was born in 1819, married Rebecca Sutfin in 1844, lived in Jackson County, Indiana, and died in 1893. All I have is a note that he was a Civil War veteran. Unfortunately the note does not indicate in what unit he served.
