27th Indiana Infantry Photo with Lt. David Van Bus

Hello and good day:

I am wondering if you can help me in regards to an albumen print photograph that I believe may represent a group of Civil War officers from the 27th Indiana Infantry. The photo includes a very large and tall officer who is standing front center that I believe is giant Lt. David Van Buskirk? In this photo he has a short beard. (There is also a black and white version that I made to show the details better.)

It would be appreciated if you would take a look at the attached close up of the photograph and give me you thoughts? I am aware that the uniforms may be wrong for the 27th? I am also aware that uniforms changed during the war depending on supplies and what available for issue. Are the uniforms correct?

If the photo is not of the 27th who would be the large officer standing front center? Is this actually a Civil War photograph. I at one time thought that it may be a GAR photo but the uniforms look to complete for a group of veterans?

Thank you for your nice website and for any comments you my wish to make.

Sincerely
