Richard Waterman's sword found

I am trying to find a article published in the Nov. 2, 1881, issue of the "Hoosier State," which was reprinted from the "Indianapolis Journal." According to a summary found in a book, the article reports that Capt. Richard Waterman's sword "had just been found on the Stone River battlefield where it had lain for almost twenty years unnoticed in some bushes. its identity was unmistakable as his name company and regiment were engraved on it." Waterman served in Company A of the 31st Indiana Infantry and died of disease in 1864.

Waterman's son, Robert, claimed the sword for the family. Robert lived in Texas in 1881, and later moved to Kansas.

The public library in Waterman's home county, Allen, has been unable to help. If you have access to this article, I'd love to get a copy (preferred) or a transcription. I am also interested to know if the sword has survived.
