Since you know which cemetery he is in, does his grave have a GAR marker? By 1862 he was 40 which is a little old to be a soldier. Its possible this man never served or if he did, he served in a militia (home guard) unit. I don't have rosters
for Indiana home guard units.
I did try Kentucky since George was in Hamilton County which I know is the Cinncinati area. Its one of the few ohio counties I actually know the location.
