Am seeking any first person materials (diaries, letters, reports, etc) written by men of the 17th Indiana Mtd Inf about their occupation of Columbus, Georgia from May-July 1865. A detachment of this regiment under the command of Capt. Lamson is cited in contemporary documents as being stationed in the city. I have researched materials at the Indiana State Hist Society Lib without success. Was wondering if anyone else might know of any information. Thanks.
