Re: letters written by soldiers from Indiana

Joe, My GGGrandfather Lt.John F. Elliott 36IL.Inf.Co.K,was in a boxcar headed to Libby prison with around 75 officers captured at Stones River, without gaurds, including Capt. D.A. Briggs 2nd Ind.Cav.( I believe captured previously at Hartsville)Capt.Edgarton Ohio Battery and Gen.Willich when he made his escape at Conyers,GA..He traded close with Capt. Briggs who was wearing a CSA butternut(a story in itself) Gen. Willich had given him a field map and others gave a pocket compass, nine dollars in confederate money and a few bisquits.I was curious if there is any mention of his capture (Willich)and a mention of my GGGrandfather or the train ride. That was Feb.26,1863. Lt.Elliott walked to Corinth,MS. arriving March 25,1863 a distance of around 380 miles. At the least I would be interested in reading the book when it comes out. Thanks!
