If you are interested in the 58th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment, you must purchase a copy of the "History of the 58th Regiment of Indiana Volunteer Infantry", by Chaplain John J. Hight (1895) - by Higginson Book Company (www.higginsonbooks.com).
It is an extremely well-written book, and comes in a hard bound, green cover. It is probably one of the best eye-witness accounts of the 58th Indiana, and their many heroic pursuits in the entire Western Theater of the American Civil War!
My wife, Karen, had a great-great grandfather, Major Frank White, of the 15th Indiana. They fought alongside the 58th Indiana, and are mentioned frequently in this book (see page 218).
