I just learned about this message board today. Congratulations on getting it up and going. I have several Indiana relatives who served in various units in the Civil War, but am mostly interested in learning more about my great-great-grandfather Riley S. Allen (1838-1910) who served as a private in Company D of the 81st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. I have a copy of his pension file from the National Archives and have learned lots from that. We also have a copy of a tintype with him in his Civil War uniform. He lived most of his life in the Scott and Washington Counties area of Indiana. Would be glad to exchange information. Best Wishes.
