Hello, Can anyone out there confirm for me why Col. John W. Blake, formerly of the 40th Indiana, and later commander of the Second Brigade, Second Division, Fourth Army Corps in the fall of 1864 was relieved from duty? I have some evidence that indicates Blake was accused of being drunk at Stone's River and was placed under arrest. Was this what led to his downfall in Octiber 1864? Any help would be appreciated and a source as well. Thanks.
