Re: 70th Indiana info, images, etc...??

Dear Ken Byrd..
My Great Grandfather, Summerfield Thomas, 1st Lt, Co. G, 70th Indiana Volunteers served in the Battle of Resaca, was wounded in the head, and later rejoined the Regiment in South Carolina. I have numerous momentos of his service, including a sheath of papers in his own handwriting, detailing various supplies of the army, since he was a Quartermaster . I have a full color portrait of him in dress uniform hanging in my living room. I have his Smith and Wesson revolver, sword, various medals, a Confederate sword he supposedly gathered off a field of battle as a souvenier. I have visited the site of the Battle of Resaca, which is not yet fully preserved, but has been purchased by the State of Georgia. The Friends of Resaca has a very good website which you have probably visited...http://www.resacabattlefield.org/FoRstart.html.
If you click on "Faces of the Battle" you will see a photograph of Summerfield Thomas...which I submitted.
I wish I knew more about the 70th...Maybe you will be able to fill in some of the missing pieces...
Thanks for bringing this topic up..
