Hello, I read with interest your fine article, post.

My G G Grandfather was Elias Leutz(changed to Lutz) during war record keeping.
Served with Company E, 129th Indiana Infantry.
He lived in Elkart Indiana, enlist as Private, survived war as Sergeant.
He is buried in cemetary off hwy 19, north of hwy 6 by Elkhart. I've seen grave. I have his pension note.

I was always told by family that after siege of Atlanta, his outfit crossed Georgia to the sea at Charleston
then proceeded north to Washington.

So, could this be? Article says differently, I'm curious what your records of co. E might indicate.

Thank you and good day,

Dennis
