Hello, William Letchworth Birney was my great grandmothers brother. Her name was Luraney Birney Van Houten. I was wondering how many photos of William Birney that you mave have and if I could get some copies. I will pay for them and postage. Also would you happen to have any other information or pictures of his sister or other family members? This is so exciting. I love geneology and finding relatives. So I guess we are related somehow, although I am not quite sure how to figure that out yet, cousins of some sort. Let's see, My mother was Neva Van Houten--- Her parents were Elmer and Katie (Culver) Van Houten. Elmers parents were Adam and Luraney(Birney) Van Houten and as I said William was Luraney's brother. I had heard about William when I was young, but only that he was in the Civil War and was a doctor, but never anything else untill I started tracing my Ancestry.
