I am looking for information on a scrimmage between troops from Gen. Wade Hampton's Cavalry and Union toops, including the 3rd IN, at Little Washington, Rappahannock County, VA Nov. 8, 1862. Hampton was almost captured as he ate dinner. I have an account that a dance was also going on with local ladies and officers from the CSA cav. The dance was also interrupted by the arrival of Union troops. Any information would be a great help.
