Can anyone tell me anything about this particular soldier? Lewis Elias Puckett. I am trying fo find out which unit he served with. He enlisted in Indiana on June 7, 1863. Don't know if that's a re-enlistment or not. It indluded men from Vigo, Sullivan, Clay and a couple other Counties. This Lewis lived in Clay Co., from 1850 to at least 1870. If anyone can help me establish which group of men he served with I would like to get his papers from D. C. if they are available.
When Lewis Puckett enlisted in 1863 there were three other men named Lewis Puckett from those same counties who enlisted. Just trying to see which one's records I need to look up.
