I was given a set of transcribed letters of a soldier in Co E 41st Ill INf last name Krone. It was the elderly gentleman's grandfather. Krone moved to Kansas after the war. THe letters cover up through the Red River Campaign, even though the unit went on to finish the war east of the Mississippi.
