The 14th Cav had what is, to me, an astonishing number of discharges for disability, even considering that working with horses is not a risk-free proposition.

One of the sources indicated that the VRC was exclusively for those injured by the enemy. That surprises me. Wouldn't they want to keep everyone they could?

So if a guy is diasbled by a horse accident, he is not qualified for the VRC?
