Stoneman's Raid on Macon - results

The 14th Illinois Cavalry, along with the rest of the raiders, met catastrophe during Stoneman's Raid on Macon. I am trying to quantify some of the results using the rosters posted at http://civilwar.ilgenweb.net/reg_html/cav_014.html

These rosters show ten soldiers who died in Annapolis MD in late '64 and '65. Since the 14th IL Cav was never in the east, I am guessing that these men were POWs who had been exchanged and died in a Union hospital there.

There are likewise five who died in Florence SC, two in Charleston SC and two on transport from Charleston.

The twenty-nine who died in Andersonville were maybe not intended for exchange.

Because of the timing, I am guessing they had been captured during Stoneman's Raid.

Can anyone clarify these issues?
