I am trying to confirm that William Lucas (my 3rd ggf) and his brother Thomas J Lucas of Logan County IL, sons of Jabez Lucas, were in the 14th IL Cavalry.

The 14th IL Cav (presumably with 2 relatives) was active for about a year in easterm Tennessee against the 16th (13th) Georgia Cavalry which contained 8 of my relatives. Since there mostly seem to have been tiny little skirmishes, these boys on opposite sides must have been shooting at each other.

William B Daniel, 16th GA, was captured at Blountville. Possible by the 14th IL Cav??

Can anybody provide any guidance?
