44th and 73rd Illionois @ the Round Forest

I am doing research for abook and one of the sticking points is the role of the 44th and 73rd Illinois regiments in the Round Forest at Murfreesboro. They were part of Shaefer's brigade of Sheridan's division. When Sheridan was forced back across the pike their brigade resupplied, got to rest for about an hour and were then placed along the railroad. It is believed to the left of the 9th Indiana. Would anyone have some primary information from members of these units to help elaborate on their role. I have dug in the ORs for way too many nights and I am looking for alternative primary sources to help supplement that information. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
