Company H 7 Illinois Calvary

John Leroy Perkins mustered out of Company H 7 Illinois Calvary on 12 July 1865 according to online records I have located. He had also served in the Mexican-American War 1846-1848.
The family history indicates he was a veteran of the Mexican-American War and served as aide de camp to General Winfield Scott and close associate of General’s Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant in the Mexican-American War.

I am searching for information on Company H 7 Illinois Calvary such as what were the members' hometowns and names of other members.

He was a few months short of his 100th birthday when he died in January 1926.
