I've heard reference to soldier/regiment surveys as part of some 1862 state legislator investigation into war spending by Gov. Yates. Apparently, this survey was sent to determine what kind of uniforms/material the soldiers were receiving. (I guess to justify the expense.) Has anyone heard of this and/or where it is located?
