Norma,
I have a little on Mr. Bishop for you. He was a private in company K of the 125th Illinois regiment. He lived in Georgetown and was 34 when he joined. He was 5'10" tall, had brown hair and blue eyes was fair complected and was married. Do you suppose that his first wife died early? He was a farmer by occupation. Was born in Maysville, Ky. Don't have the exact date of his birth or when he enlisted. He was mustered out on June 9,1865 at Washington, DC and was mustered out by Lt. Scroggs. This suggests to me that he took part in the Grand Review that took place in Washington a few days before this date of muster out. In case you do not know, this was a two day affair in which the army of the east paraded the first day and the army of the west paraded the sencond day led by General Sherman. I am having a senior moment and can't remember who led the east army on the first day. Every little bit adds to the final answer. Frank
