I am trying to acquire any information on James Edward, an Australian born Civil War veteran. Any information onb his life in Illinois or elsewhere, his family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is James Edwards, born in Australia. His residence was in Galena, Illinois and he enlisted as a Private on 8/5/1862. On 9/4/1862 he mustered into "I" Co. Illinois 96th Infantry and was discharged for disability on 1/1/1864.
