I imagine that some of them came to Douglas from Louisville, but the first 8000 came straight from Ft. Donelson to Camp Douglas as I understand it. Another 2000 were sent from Ft. Donelson to Camp Butler. Some might have gone to Jeffersonville, Ind. but I am not real sure about that.
