Jones, Elijah of Saline County, Ill. c.1837 born in Gallatin County, Ill. single, farmer; Aug. 15, 1861 enlisted at Saline, Ill. as private, Company E, 29th Ill. Infantry Regiment; Dec. 7, 1861 discharged at Cairo, Ill. 1870 day laborer at Du Quion, Ill. 5 feet, 9 3/4 inches tall, light hair, blue eyes
Feb. 5, 1887 his son Henry W. Jones applied for a pension while living in Illinois
May 25, 1898 his widow Lurena or Lueretia E. Clennault (c.1842 born in Illinois) applied for a pension while living in Illinois
NOTE: Neither pension application has a certificate number which suggests that neither pension was granted.
