I'm looking for info on Robert E. Bayer Co.C 12th Illinois Cav. I found his grave in Chestnut Hill cemetery Morgan County, West Virginia and was wondering if he was from Illinois or had been a local soldier who joined the unit when they were here. He died Sept 11, 1900.
