Col. Mihalotozy was part of the 24th Infantry Regiment. He was Lt. Colonel for a short period and was promoted to full Colonel in short order.
He was wounded on the night of Feb. 24, 1864 near Dalton, Ga. and died of his wounds somewhat later that night or the next day. Some accounts say that he died from wounds suffered on March 11 but the AG report says the 24th. I think that is the oorect date.
He was buried in the NationalCemetery at Dalton Ga.
