My Ggrandfather John Abner Chappell served in the 8th Calvary Regiment (Wades) Co. G Confederacy for Alabama. They say his rank was Private -Corporal. He was captured & spent 2 years as a POW. Does anyone know where he was captured or what prison he was sent to? The above is all I have,family said he was in military 4 years. Any information would be so appreciated. He was born 1840 to Miles & Pricilla Chappell of Alabama. Thank you
