Hello,

I am looking for information about my great grandfather John Squier (also Squire, Squires) b1839.

He enlisted in the Wisconsin 10th Infantry, Company K on September 7, 1861. I believe he may have been taken prisoner at Chickamauga, GA and sent to Andersonville Prison, from which he may have escaped.

I have a newspaper clipping which states that the family celebrated his release from Libby Prison in 1864 but I have been unable to find any record of him being at Libby Prison.

Any help with Libby Prison records would be appreciated.
