Thank you, Glenn. That is so helpful to see the list and to see that Calvin Sharp is on it. I would love to see the photo that you recall if you ever come across it again. I do have a couple of photos of him but am always looking for others. I have posted one on findagrave in case you want to look at it and see if it is the one you remember.

On p. 685 of that book, R. S. Williams recounts that they were beside the railroad and their whole wagontrain was taken captive. I wonder if those captured were the ones taken to Harts Island? Reading the account, it certainly sounds plausible. It all sounds pretty horrific. Have you heard how the men got to Harts Island? I assume they would have been taken by train since they were near the railroad but that is just a guess.
