Hello Lisa, I see where you have located what appears to be his photograph on Find-A-Grave. Needless to say you know he was a Union soldier with Company D 15th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry.

According to his Union Compiled Military Service Records he was taken prisoner on September 20, 1863 during the battle of Chickamauga. He was taken to Libby Prison and arrived there on September 29, 1863. He then was forwarded to Danville, Virginia where he arrived on December 12, 1863 and was admitted to the hospital for small-pox. From Danville, Virginia he was transferred to Camp Sumter, aka Andersonville, Georgia however a date is not recorded. He was paroled to Savannah, Georgia and then transferred to Camp Parole, Maryland where he arrived on December 10, 1864 and was exchanged as a prisoner of war. He was furloughed on December 11, 1864 for 30 days with orders to report to Camp Chase after his leave.

For the rest of our readers I will post an article about him on Find-A-Grave:
