It appears that he was ill most of his time in service and was home on sick
furlough when captured.

John Storment, Sr

Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 3/1/1862 as a Private.
On 3/1/1862 he mustered into "H" Co. MS 32nd Infantry
He died of disease as POW on 1/5/1864 at Alton, IL
(Estimated date of enlistment; Died of small pox)
He was listed as:
* POW 9/1/1863 Tishomingo, MS
Other Information:
Buried: Confederate Cemetery, North Alton, IL

It has been stated Storment was captured in the district of Corinth, Mississippi taken to Memphis before being sent to Alton Prison. My question concerns where in Memphis he was sent and his time at Alton if there is any information on the subject.
