Re: Prisoner of War Exchange
In Response To: Prisoner of War Exchange ()

My 2X great grandfather, Andrew Jackson Blevins (also listed as A. J. Blevings, Belloin, Bellevins, Blevinger.) was also captured along with his brother-in-law James S Bean at the Battle of Fort Donelson on Feb 16, 1862, Tennessee. Both men were listed as Privates with the 27th Alabama Infantry Co. G and were sent to Camp Douglas in Chicago. Andrew Jackson Blevins was listed in the prisoner of war exchange in Sept, 1862 in Forrest Station, MS. reason for release, Sickness. Does anyone have any additional information on either of these men.
Thanks
Teresa
