Miss Alice of Baltimore

I have a letter from Lt. Wm. A. Smith, I/50th Va., from Ft. Delaware, dated 7 July 1864, in which Smith talks about the clothes he had received: "A lady in Baltimore sent me the following articles of clothing, viz: Coat, Pants, two under Shirts, two pairs Drawers, two pairs Socks, a pair Shoes & two linen handkerchiefs. Dont you think Miss Alice a dear good girl? And she said the joy of making those comfortable who were far from their homes & loved ones was compensation enough." Any help in identifying "Miss Alice" would be appreciated.
