Prison profile at Johnson's Island, Ohio

I have seen a handful of "autograph books" - lists of fellow Confederate prisoners held at Johnson's Island, Ohio. I have just examined one at the Library of Virginia in Richmond done by Wesley Makely. Makely writes the usual information, which is simply a name, regiment, residence, and where and when captured. But he has also compiled some statistics, of which I copied two here for general interest:

A List of Prisoners on Johnson's Is., February 1st 1864

Brigadier Generals - 5
Colonels - 51
Lieutenant Colonels - 44
Majors - 58

Citizens - 72
Negro - 4
Total - 2617
