New information about Camp Chase

By May 15, 1862 three prison were at Camp Chase. Each prison had their own hospital and Camp Chase also had a Post hospital.

The buildings at Camp Chase were donated to the insane home in 1867

The cost for installing the stones at camp chase in 1908 was .15 per stone

20,000 Confederate tombstones were bought by the government from the Blue Ridge Marble Company in Nelson, Georgia for $2.90 per stone. They were known as Cherokee marble.
