In Hebrew, Shiloh means place of peace. 37 Confederate soldiers now have their Shiloh at the Camp Chase Cemetery. 31 were reinterred from Camp Dennison in May of 1869. The other six Jacob Mooney of the 18th Louisiana; J.B. Guillot of the 18th Louisiana; William Steel 18th Alabama; William Cunningham 54th Tennessee; William Garner 24th Tennessee; And Wilson 35th Tennessee who while wounded at Shiloh died at the insane asylum in Columbus, Ohio. The following is the State breakdown of the Confederate dead at the Camp Chase Cemetery due to the battle of Shiloh. Also there are eight (8) other Confederates who died of wounds from Shiloh at Camp Dennison whose bodies were not brought to Camp Chase with the other 31 for unknown reasons. They are buried at the Spring Grove Cemetery, near Cincinnati, Ohio and are not included in this breakdown.

I realize that the 2nd MS was not at the battle of Shiloh but rather in Virginia at the time. It is possible that Private Turner may have had furlough and ended up at Shiloh as he lived near Iuka,MS. Again the CMSR's are only about 90% accurate.

Arkansas: 2
1st Arkansas Infantry=1 (Henry-Co.F #2126)
8th Arkansas Infantry=1 (Hubbard-Co.D #2136)
