Union POW records show Robert Jones, Pvt., E/48Va, captured 3 July 63 at Gettysburg and a POW at Ft. Delaware until being sent to Point Lookout. Arrived Point Lookout 27 October 1863. Any information about the period from capture through time at Ft. Delaware would be appreciated. This POW record is the only record I can find of Jones' being a member of the 48Va. While the records of the regiment after 1861 until 1864 are nearly non-existent, I am trying to determine, if possible, whether the Union captors got the Jones' regt right. Ft. Delaware records might clarify.
