My great grandfather, Calvin Jones Watts, was wounded and captured by the federals at Monocacy, Md. on July 10, 1864. He was moved to several hospitals and prisons until being paroled at Pt. Lookout, Md. _____, 1864. He was thereafter exchanged on November 15, 1864 at Venus Point, Savannah River. I have been unable to determine what happened to him after that point and until he returned home in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. As he had been wounded, I assume he did not return to his unit. After having joined up on July 7, 1861, he was still only 17 years old in November 1864 when he was exchanged. Any assistance will be appreciated.
