I have a cow horn that was ornately carved by an "Immortal 600" while a POW at Fort Pulaski. The horn was polished with cedar charcoal. Did the POW's use cedar for firewood? Also would the POW's be allowed to openly use a knife to carve and are there any other known artifacts made by "Immortal 600" while at Fort Pulaski?
