Linda, I would surely like to know the details from the person whose ancestor survived Camp Douglas. My g-gf survived ( POW from July 1864-June 1865), but I know nothing about his ordeal. He died at the young age of 36 in 1880. His wife survived until 1921. My mother was only 6 years old and does not remember any stories.

How can we communicate directly or can you share your friend's details through this website?

Thanks, Ann C. Peeples
