Federal Prison in New Orleans 1864

I am looking for information on a Confederate prisoner who died on 24 July 1864 "in the Federal Prison in New Orleans" (caption on back of old photo.

The solider's name is Pleasanton Grey Conner. He's like the Pvt. P.J. Conner who served in the 19th Texas Infantry Company H. An alternate name is Pheastanton Grey Conner. He was born on 16 Sept. 1840.

Would also appreciate information on prison itself.
