Danville Va. Prison deaths - reburial at home?

I have been waiting for someone else to respond, but I guess the answer as you presented the query is no.

I made a quick search of the Internet and came up with two hits you probably already know about:

(1) http://www.cem.va.gov/pdf/danVA.pdf

(2) http://www.interment.net/data/us/va/danville/danvnat/index.htm

As I understand it, there are 1,314 graves of which 1,171 have been identified and 143 are unknown.

Do you have a name and regiment that you are researching? If you know the hometown or home community of the soldier in question, you can back track to the local newspapers and see. His recovery and reburial would have taken some money, and would have been a notable event in the life of a small town.
