Just an academic caution note, most of the university history professors that I know will not allow Wikipedia to be used as sources. It is not a trustworthy source. The material you give above is an example of that. Although the article has somewhat of a bibliography, I did pull one of the books off of my shelf ("What they Fought For") and did not find the all the numbers that are listed in the article. I verified footnotes 5 & 6 but none of the other statistics were verifiable.
